A Simple Spectrophotometric Determination of Amoxicillin in Drug Samples

In this study, a fast and simple spectrophotometric method was developed for the determination of amoxicillin in drugs without any extraction steps. The is based on formation colored ion pair complex between bromocresol green amoxycillin dimethyl sulfoxide-acetonitrile (50 % v/v) medium. absorbance bluish measured at wavelength 630 nm. factors that affect formation, such as time, reagent concentration, etc., have been optimized. Under optimum conditions, had an average recovery 98.16% with relative standard deviation 3.62 showed very good linear behavior obeying Lambert-Beer's law range 1-18 µg mL-1 concentration. has successfully applied to both tablet powder forms pharmaceutical preparations. addition statistical parameters were test accuracy proposed method, obtained results from two methods agreement each other.
